Dr Johnson joined the United States navy upon graduation from medical school and was assigned duty for his family practice residency at national naval regional medical center in Charleston south Carolina, Dr Johnson completed a 3 year family practices residency program in 1978 and was then transferred to aerospace naval regional medical center in pensacola Florida until Late 1980.

In the fall of 1980 Dr Johnson joined Dr Mike white and Dr Steve Johnson and started family Medicine associates. Dr Johnson contacted to practice with this group until 2021

When the practice was sold.

Now Dr Johnson shares his time and talents with the Hope Charity Clinic, Community Hospice of Texas, and foreign medical mission work over the globe. He also works part-time with Dr Mac Mahaffey, a former partner of Dr Johnson at Family Medicine Associates.

Dr Johnson has 3 children and 8 grandchildren and spends much of his time enjoying family. Dr Johnson is a pilot and enjoys flying to see family and friends and going to Colorado to enjoy the mountains. One of his passions is 4 wheeling over the rough mountains of Colorado as well as woodworking and woodturning. Dr Johnson has lived in Cleburne from 1980 to the present. Dr Johnson is excited to be a part of a new church plant here in Cleburne. This church is Cornerstone Methodist Church in the Wesleyan conservative tradition.
