• Filing a Healthcare Complaint

    Mahaffey Family Medicine, is committed to maintaining compliance with all federal and state regulations. House Bill 4224, enacted in 2025 by the 89th Texas Legislature, stipulates that covered entities will post detailed instructions on how to file complaints with the applicable licensing authority in a prominent place (i) on the covered entity’s website and (ii) at any entity facility.

    Texas Medical Board (TMB; for Atascosa Health Center, Inc.’s Doctors and Physician Assistants)

    Texas Board of Nursing (TBON; for Atascosa Health Center, Inc.’s Nurses and Nurse Practitioners)

    You may submit a complaint relating to Mahaffey Family Medicine, to HRSA or HHSC. You may a submit a complaint involving one of our doctors and physicians’ assistants to the TMB or one of our nurses and nurse practitioners to the TBON.     Filing a Consumer Complaint

    In addition to healthcare-related complaints, Texas Health and Safety Code § 181.103 requires the Office of the Attorney General to establish a website that permits individuals to file a complaint against a business for unlawful or unfair business practices.
